Makeover Candle Gift Project

Happy November to you all!

Haven’t the days become chillier all of a sudden?  Winter is definitely on it’s way.  We even had our first frost earlier on in the week.  I do enjoy keeping warm under a blanket though, all I need is an open fire and the scene would be set!

I use candles a lot in our home, I love both the scent and the atmosphere they create.  I bought a few recently which smell divine but look a little dowdy so I decided to give one a makeover as a gift for a friend.

The first thing I used from the box was the material which I adhered with double sided tape to the side of the tin.  I  added the pom pom trim with the same tape and I found it stuck really well.  I found material worked so well, as unlike paper, it doesn’t crease and I was able to manipulate it really well.

For the top of the candle I die cut a white glitter circle  out of card to use as the base.  I then took a couple of poinsettia paper flowers and added glitter glue to the tips.  I threaded bakers twine through the middle of a white bell and added transparent beads to the ends.

I used the wonderfully delicate skeleton leaves to the base and added the glitter chipboard shapes before adding my poinsettia.  I think you’ll agree it’s a pretty gift to give or to receive.

There’s still time to get your own Through The Letterbox and you can order here I look forward to seeing what you’ve made!  There’s plenty of inspiration still to come from the Design Team’s projects so keep an eye out.

See you again soon,
