Mixed Media Fabric Tag

I just love working with fabric!

I cut out a tag shape and sewed a zig-zag stitch all the way around. I then applied some Fray Check to stop it fraying as canvas can fray quite quickly.

I decorated the blank canvas firstly by using a spray mist in green and orange.  Then, using several different stencils  and Versamagic Ink , I randomly added the spots and part of the Baroque pattern at the top right.

I cut out a spotty heart and a slightly larger hessian heart for underneath and sewed then directly onto the canvas.  I added the green sead beads around the edge and sewed French Knots onto the spots, and dotted a few around the tag too.

I sewed some random wavy lines before adding some brads.  I have so many brads and this is a fab way to use them up!

I backed the whole tag with some green felt – great for hiding all the back of the sewing and brads, and I also did some rough stitching around the tag hole to stop it fraying any further, before threading with ribbon and a pinky fibre.
