Rose Bliss

I’ve been working on a little tutorial on how I make my paper roses – I’ll be adding it to the blog in the next couple of days, but I thought I’d first show you the card I’ve made using the large rose which will be featured in the tutorial.

I revisited the beautiful “Love Is…” Through the Letterbox craft box to find bits and pieces to add interest and give a bit of a unstructured, collage feel to my card

This is made from smooth cream card stock, the upper panel is the same card but I’ve used an embossing folder to give texture. I also used my finger to apply a little gold Alchemy Wax over the ‘bumps’, and then, not content with that, I rubbed a little glue over parts of it and added some gilding flakes.

The heart border is a die, which I cut from soft gold card, then again added some gilding flakes to some parts.

I decided on the arrangement of the roses, the large one is made with punched flowers, the smaller ones are die cuts, then added all the ‘extras’

HERE is the Rose Tutorial

The “BLISS” ticket, “Remember” word, Patterned wooden button and the sweet gold star charm are all from the “Love Is…” box, I also sacrificed one of the lovely heart glitter die-cuts from the box to punch a couple of tiny glittery hearts

The gold leaves are die cut and the black organza ribbon is from my stash.  It’s fun putting something like this together, I’ve always enjoyed making collages, and its a great way to discover and use all those little treasures you knew would come in useful one day!

From the “Love Is…” Through the Letterbox craft box I used:

The “BLISS” ticket

“Remember” word

Patterned wooden button

Gold Star Charm

Red Heart Glitter die-cut

From my stash: all card and paper, gilding flakes, Alchemy Wax, Dies, Punches, Ribbon

You can find the Rose tutorial here, I hope you’ll give them a try

Happy Crafting
