Having fun with stencils

Hello, Carol with you today – my project this week is to make a background using stencils, ink and stamps and then to turn that into a birthday card.

I cut some cream card to size and then masked off the edges using post it notes.  Three colours of distress ink were added to the base.  Taking a baby wipe and a stencil I wiped over the ink to lift some from the base.  I then added distress ink thro’ three further stencils to add some depth to the piece.

Using one of the stencils I added texture paste on top of the stamped and inked base

The post it notes were removed and the piece mounted onto black cardstock.

I added a stamped bird, which had been coloured in using the same distress ink colours, a bit of stamping in the back ground and the piece was finished.
