Hopefully you’ll already have seen the wonderful shaker elements our lovely Dawn has added to cards and other projects over the last few months.
Well, she’s definitely inspired me to have a go at making something using this technique – I’ll admit that I have tried them before but not with much success so I just gave up.
But thanks to Dawn I just needed a good excused to have another go. The perfect excuse came a couple of weeks back when our youngest nephew deserved a gold star for doing brilliantly in his GCSEs
To make the star shaped card blank I folded a piece of white card and taped a large star die in place with the upper point of the die jutting out from the fold, This means you cut both sides of the star at once, and the shape retains a fold at the top.
Next I cut the same sized star in gold card and adhered it to the front of the folded card. The gold star conceals the folded shape.
I made the shaker section from shiny gold card and some acetate, with sequins from the Hooked! Through the Letterbox craft box inside. I added a few small stars punched from one of the larger glittery stars in the Seeing Stars box
The letters are die cut from the shiny card and they were glued to a strip of card along the lower edge of the card
I’m so glad I decided have another try at making a shaker card – it was fun!. Thanks Dawn for encouraging me to do it!
