There are times when a project just needs a single perfect embellishment to finish it off. When I put together this seaside themed card I knew it needed ‘something’ and I found the perfect finishing touch in the remains of my Bubbly Funk Through the Letterbox ‘Hooked!’ craft box
I grew up in the North East of England, in a seaside village with a history of fishing and mining, both of which have left their mark. Although the mines are long gone you can still see the ‘echo’ of the mining heritage in the dross left on the beach and when we last visited, I took photos of the amazing patterns it had made on the sand.
Believe it or not, the ‘paper’ I used for the backing section of this card is one of my photos – aren’t the patterns beautiful?
I used another of my photos as the focal image and added a few layered die cuts for the sentiment.
To finish the card I had a rummage in the Hooked! box and selected a few bits and pieces, a shell, a tiny seahorse and an anchor – I was going to arrange them in the lower corner….but in the end changed my mind and opted instead to use just the chipboard anchor, coated with black Enamel Accents and a knot made from gold twine.
Thanks for looking
