Tutorial – Happy Birthday Card
Instructions
I began by making a water colour background using paints. I used a spray bottle to wet my water colour paper. I then made a watery wash of paint and brushed it across the top of the paper. I then sprayed it and let it run down the paper. I dried the paper with my heat gun. Once dried I repeated the process with different pinks and oranges to build up the colour. Once dry I dribbled more concentrated paint drips down the paper.

Once the paper was completely dried, I chose a large flower stamp, mine was a poppy stamp from IndigoBlu. I stamped the image with black ink for a background image.

I trimmed the image down to 5” x 5” and matted it onto a piece of purple cardstock. I set this aside for later.
Next, I took a piece of kraft cardstock and two AALL & Create background stamps. I used the Wow embossing pad to stamp random images onto the card. I then added the WOW bonding powder and heated with my heat gun. I added WOW foils in purples, pinks, and silvers

I trimmed this to 5” x 5”, distressed the edges and added it too my white 6” x 6” card blank.
I added a piece of purple ribbon and bakers’ twine around the card towards the bottom. I added my stamped image directly on top of the ribbon with foam pads.
Next, I coloured a piece of white cardstock purple with water colour pens. I then stamped another poppy image over the top with the WOW embossing pad and dusted with bonding powder. I heated with my heat gun before adding a rose gold foil. Once cooled I trimmed it and added it to the stamped panel

Next, I made a happy birthday sentiment using my little dies and cutting machine. I found this little sizzix machine when I moved craft rooms, forgot I had it. I cut out the sentiment, covered it with the embossing pad and bonding powder before heating with the heat gun and adding rose gold foil. I reheated the sentiment and added more foil to catch any bare bits.

Once cooled, I glued it to white cardstock before fussy cutting it and adding it to the stamped panel.
I took a piece of hexagon patterned paper with butterflies from the indigoBlue mixed media kit and added them to the car with foam pads.

I took another piece of water colour paper and made another water colour wash background. Once dry, I hand drew 3 five petal flowers and made a 3D flower. I squashed it flat before adding to the ribbon. I decorated with tiny paper rose flowers and buttons to finish.

And there you go, using WOW foils to make backgrounds and sentiments for cards
I hope you can have a play too
