Tutorial – Mixed Media Masculine Cards

Method
I began by making myself a watercolour background. I added blobs of paint to the 12 x 12 before spraying water over out. I let it run in various directions before blotting off the excess. I dried it off with my heat gun before repeating with another colour. I used 3 colours in total.

Once my paper was finished and dry, I began adding random stamping around the page in black ink.

Next I added more stamped images but this time using the wow embossing pad and bonding powder as I wanted to add some colour and sparkle using the wow foils

I used different coloured foils. Also, my 12 x 12” cardstock was textured so added a grungy texture to the foil. The photos below really don’t do the pics any justice, the sparkle is amazing.

Once I was happy with my background, I cut it up into 5.5” x 5.5” pieces to add to card blanks. I matted one on white cardstock and one on kraft card stock.
I die cut out a bunch of grungy shapes and painted them to match my watercolour background.

Then I began to layer up the cards with patterned paper, cardstock, the die cuts and embellishments

Hope you like how the cards turned out after my experimental background making session.
