I had a lovely floral piece of scrapbook paper that I have wanted to use for ages but it just neve seemed to match anything. Then I found a lovely winter picture of my daughter that I knew would be perfect. I started by taking a fine journal pen and doodling around the inside of the paper with the 13@arts stencil to give a lovely monochrome outline to match the black and white of the photograph.
Once I was happy with my doodling, I took a craft knife and self-heal mat and carefully cut out the inner circle. As the resulting hole in the middle was slightly bigger than my photo, I added some strips of patterned paper from the 13@arts sunrise collection to the top and bottom of the hole.
I added my photo to the back of the patterned paper and added some washi tape to decorate.
Next I took lots of leaves and flowers from the ephemera kit and began to layer them up at the side and top of the photograph. I used foam pads to add depth.
I gathered lots of text cut outs of stickers and mounted them all onto pieces of card. I added them around the flower assembly again with foam pads. I added some bling to the doodled flowers to finish.
And there you go, a simple but romantic looking scrapbook layout.
Hope you get to have a play, mixing in your stencils with your paper crafts.
